CLAM (Central London Advanced Motorists)
is one of over 200 local Groups affiliated to the Institute of Advanced
Motorists (IAM).
The IAM is the national body, with
over 100,000 members, which promotes and runs the Advanced Driving
Test and is an influential voice on road safety.
CLAM and the other local groups
are volunteers who support the aims of the IAM and are here to help
you prepare for and pass that Test. We do this by providing trained
volunteer Observers who will go out with you in your car, assess
your driving, and guide you towards being a better driver.
For
all our members we provide a local forum to meet with other serious
drivers, both socially and to share our skills and keep up-to-date
on driving matters.
CLAM covers approximately the area
of the "020 7" telephone numbers, plus all SW and W postcodes.
We
welcome commuters who may live further out, and find our evening
meetings easier to attend than those in their home area, but cannot
always provide them with Observed Drives.
If
you live outside this area or are interested in the IAM Motorcycle
Test, see our Links for neighbouring groups in Outer London.
