We will help you to raise your everyday
driving to IAM Test standard (and so be readily able to pass the
Test).
Much of this
you will be able to practice in your own time with guidance provided
during Observed Drives.
Our Observers are full IAM members
who wish to use their experience to help others.
You
will be allocated a personal Observer so that times can be arranged
between even the busiest diaries.
All
our Observers are volunteers who give their services free of charge;
occasionally they are in short supply so you may have a short wait
for allocation.
During an Observed Drive, which
may range from ½ hour to 1½ hours, your Observer will assess your driving and suggest ways to
cut out any bad habits and improve your observation and technique. At the end of each
drive you will have a written record of key points to revise and practice before the next run.
On average, 4-5 such drives are needed.
For those not yet allocated an Observer,
or just wanting a 'taster', Assessment Runs are offered most months on a Sunday morning, starting from
West London and East London (alternate months). Here you will get an intensive ½ hour or more of
assessment to get you started. Do please book a few days in advance for these sessions to allow
us to bring enough Observers.
